Research conducted over the past 25 years show that Emotional Intelligence (EI) contributes to both professional success and personal satisfaction and happiness.  At this WAN workshop you will learn specific strategies and tips for developing your emotional intelligence and leadership presence.  Whether you are interviewing, engaging in a meeting, collaborating with colleagues, managing difficult conversation, or serving in a leadership role, you'll learn important distinctions to enable your self-awareness. Participants will draw on their own experiences so examples are relevant, and leave with a plan for focused practice and self-development.

Participants will be able to:

  • Define emotional intelligence and describe the impact of EI in the workplace and personal lives
  • Identify the four competencies of emotional intelligence (EI) including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and social management
  • Identify EI strengths and recognize the interrelatedness of mind, body, and emotion (state of mind)
  • Generate personal strategies for tapping into your own mind and body wisdom and choosing emotions and states of mind that enable you to be more productive and effective at life and work
